A poem by Jim Deeds
[New City Magazine – November 2021, page 23]
Autumn ambles in,
Where summer once stood strong;
Bringing blood-soaked dawns,
And silver sunsets.
Awe-inspiring autumn allows,
All who pause,
To ponder the wonder,
Of the world;
To know that movement,
Of season, of time, of age, of people,
Is ordained, is proper, is good.
From the book Soul Seasons by Jim Deeds. Published by New City (2021)
- Soul Seasons is the follow up to Jim’s book of poems, Gym for the Soul, and was written over the space of two years of observing the seasons as they came and went, both in the world around him and in his own life and the lives of those he loves.
