About the Author

Catherine M S Beer has always enjoyed writing since childhood. She attended the Oxford High School until she took her degree at Warwick University in English and European Studies and Dip. Ed at Homerton College, Cambridge. She taught in primary schools in London and then moved to Italy where she was employed as secretary and translator in the Vatican.

From the 1980s until her retirement in 2013 she worked at the University of Hertfordshire as Conference Officer, then as Training Officer organising and running training courses for staff, and lastly managing a team of researchers working with robots. She currently lives in Welwyn Garden City.
