Chiara Amirante’s story is the stuff of high adventure. It tells of a soul completely given to God and to the service of those most in need in our society. If you didn’t know it was true, you simply wouldn’t believe it! In her life, Chiara Amirante has experienced the heights of joy and the depths of suffering. And through all of this runs the deep conviction that God wants her to do something for those on the margins of society, the drug addicts and the prostitutes, those whom society passes by as they lie of the streets of our towns and cities.
Chiara Amirante was born in Rome in 1966. Founder and president of “New Horizons”, she is also a writer and author of numerous bestsellers, consultant on two Pontifical Councils of the Holy See, and participated in the Synod on the New Evangelisation.
Her street life adventure began in the ‘90s when, in the world of underground tunnels below the Termini Station of the time, she began to encounter the people of the night: young people struggling with drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution, AIDS, prison…
Chiara is consultant to the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral care of Migrants and Itinerant People, a consultant to the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of New Evangelisation, has received numerous international awards and accolades and is currently president of New Horizons. She has penned 18 books, many of which are bestsellers.
