This book speaks specifically to religious. It provides invaluable help to them as they meet the challenge to grow, from the early stages and beyond, to full maturity in Christ.
And yet its appeal cannot be limited. Its themes concern all who seek to develop personally in the life of the spirit. Hence from when it touches upon the beginnings of the spiritual journey to when it deals with the later struggles (a subject often forgotten), it reaches to the core of human nature.
It is precisely this universality, addressed to religious, that makes the book so peculiarly suited also to religious. It proposes a whole and harmonious formation, adapted to the life of the Church today. This is rooted in the paschal mystery of death and resurrection, aided by true relationships in a living community. Thus each person is allowed to reach his or her full identity, flourishing according to the particular gift of the Spirit to each religious family.
